On a beautiful Sunday, we explored the Melrose Farmer’s Market. This shirtdress worked perfectly for the semi chilly spring weather. The fabric is thick enough to keep warm, but still lets your legs out for a spin. It’s a perfect transitional dress.

Ever shop H&M, Zara or TopShop and think, ‘this is a cute dress,’ then pull it off the rack only to realize it’s actually a beach cover up? I recently experienced that at H&M and decided regardless if it was meant for the beach or not, I was going to style this cover up, pair it with some cute sandals and wear it around town to dinner. Now, it’s my new favorite.

Something I’ve been searching for for a long time has been a quality, faux fur vest. I’ve looked everywhere for one, and lucky for me, found one under the Christmas tree this year. From Club Monaco, I am completely in love with this piece. Pairing it with a basic tee made for a sophisticated, easy look for a date night at Charlatan in Chicago’s West Town (which, btw, if you are in need of some winter comfort food, this is the place.)

Usually I don’t blog an outfit beforehand but I’m making an exception for NYE … New Year’s Eve has always been an excuse for me to leave the house bedazzled in sequins (which, if it were socially and fashionably acceptable, I would wear everyday.) This year is no different. I am pairing a pair of Lucy Paris sequin leggings with a plain black tee for a laid back, yet sparkly look.

I channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw this weekend when I attended The Joffrey Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker. I paired a gold top from Nordstrom with my favorite look for this holiday season — a huge tulle skirt. While it definitely spilled over into the seat next to me, this skirt screams holidays and looked great paired with a wool Nanette Lepore blazer.

It’s cold in Chicago. And it’s only mid-November … On a Starbucks run on this Sunday I layered it on with my new Rails button down and Dolce Vita boots along with a cozy scarf, mittens and a little YSL.

One of my must-haves for fall is a great plaid top. I got this one by Ace Delivery at Nordstrom. I paired it with with some leather Adam Tucker flats and my favorite pair of Hudson jeans and was ready for a Sunday walk along the Chicago river with my guy.

I’ve been dying to wear these “I <3 My Loubies” Louboutin loafers for quite some time, but let’s be honest — they aren’t appropriate for just any outfit. But this weekend offered me the perfect chance. I paired them with leather shorts and a silk button down for a laid back date night at Carriage House Chicago.
