Chilly Wednesday. // 2.17.15
Tunic: The Mint Julep Boutique; Leggings: Akira; Boots: Dolce Vita.
I got the chance team up with The Mint Julep Boutique, and they sent me this lovely and comfy tunic. It’s goes perfect with leggings or skinny jeans. I’m obsessed! Check them out here, they’ve got lovely, chic pieces!
She Rocks Awards at the Anaheim Marriott. // 1.24.15
Dress: HeartLoom; Necklace: Nordstrom; Shoes: Louboutin.
Last weekend, I was honored with an award that supports women in leadership roles in the music industry. As soon as I found out there was going to be a red carpet, I started planning what I was going to wear. I went with this loose-fitting, LBD from Heartloom. It had a boho vibe, but still looked chic with classic black Louboutins for the red carpet. (Please excuse the selfie. All the shots I could get my hands on to blog this with cut off my legs, so I had to take one full view once I got back.)
Dinner at Charlatan Chicago. // 1.10.15
Vest: Club Monaco; Tee/Leggings: Nordstrom; Boots: Dolce Vita.
Something I’ve been searching for for a long time has been a quality, faux fur vest. I’ve looked everywhere for one, and lucky for me, found one under the Christmas tree this year. From Club Monaco, I am completely in love with this piece. Pairing it with a basic tee made for a sophisticated, easy look for a date night at Charlatan in Chicago’s West Town (which, btw, if you are in need of some winter comfort food, this is the place.)
New Year’s Eve. // 12.31.14
Top: Nordstrom BP; Pants: Lucy Paris; Shoes: Louboutin.
Usually I don’t blog an outfit beforehand but I’m making an exception for NYE … New Year’s Eve has always been an excuse for me to leave the house bedazzled in sequins (which, if it were socially and fashionably acceptable, I would wear everyday.) This year is no different. I am pairing a pair of Lucy Paris sequin leggings with a plain black tee for a laid back, yet sparkly look.
The Nutcracker Ballet. // 12.21.14
Skirt: Akira Chicago; Top: Nordstrom; Jacket: Nanette Lepore; Bag: YSL; Shoes: Louboutin.
I channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw this weekend when I attended The Joffrey Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker. I paired a gold top from Nordstrom with my favorite look for this holiday season — a huge tulle skirt. While it definitely spilled over into the seat next to me, this skirt screams holidays and looked great paired with a wool Nanette Lepore blazer.
Christmas Tea at The Peninsula Hotel.// 12.2.14
Sweater & Necklace : H&M; Bracelet: Henri Bendel; Boots: Dolce Vita.
For our annual Christmas tea at The Peninsula Hotel, I chose to break out the winter whites. I wore a heavy, white sweater with silver and gold jewelry — sticking to the holiday feel. Btw, if you haven’t had tea at The Peninsula, especially during Christmas, I encourage you to try it. It’s definitely one of my favorite things to do!
Causal Sunday. // 11.16.14
Sweatshirt: Private Party; Boots: Dolce Vita; Leggings: Akira; Bag: Saint Laurent.
Casual Sunday called for a laid back look for watching football on the couch. And a little Drake, of course.
Sunday Starbucks Run. // 11.16.14
Top: Rails; Coat: Joie; Leggings: Akira Chicago; Boots: Dolce Vita; Scarf: Nordstrom BP; Mittens: H&M; Bag: YSL.
It’s cold in Chicago. And it’s only mid-November … On a Starbucks run on this Sunday I layered it on with my new Rails button down and Dolce Vita boots along with a cozy scarf, mittens and a little YSL.
Sushi date night at Jellyfish Chicago. // 10.25.14
Dress: Diane Von Furstenberg; Shoes: Louboutin; Bag: Louis Vuitton.
Throwback Thursday-ing it to about two weeks ago when I wore my favorite dress for a sushi date with my man. DVF Zarita dresses are so classic and so chic and a staple every girl should have in their wardrobe.
eShakti. // 10.26.14
Dress: eShakti; Shoes: Louboutin.
I recently received a dress from online custom clothier eShakti. In my unbiased opinion, I must say I had a pleasant experience. I gave them my measurements, chose the dress style online and received it in the mail about two weeks later. The dress itself is a little tricky to get on at first, but once on, the fit is great. The fabric is slightly heavier – very cottony, so you if you like a cotton fabric, this dress is for you. I love the style – it’s very 1960s-classic chic. I can see wearing it to a dinner party or possibly to tea. I paired it here with some nude Louboutin pumps. Overall, I really like the dress, the fit and the fabric. The style is exactly what I was looking for, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a dress with a custom fit.
